Windows XP wont write data to my DVD-RW. I have a Philips 1208 DVD+rw, it works fine as a CD writer (with CDR media) and it makes DVDs from programmes such as My DVD and DVDit!, but if I wish to simply send datd to it like I do with a normal CDR (send to [drive letter]) and I run the wizard it tells me that the disk in the driver is empty of full, yet windows shows the cd as a re-writable with 4.7 space available....? NERO sends data OK to it... can XP write data to a DVD?
Also, and pardon the bitching, why is it that XP wont let me erase a file, it may be a file that I have not used at all (say an MP3 I downloaded and then realized did not want), it gives me this [the file is being used] messsage, I even have directories that I cannot erase because of that....any idea of why?...many, many thanks for your replies...
