The fact that you get the same reoccuring problems leads me to believe that it's a hardware problem. First question - are you overclocking anything? If so, don't. If you're not sure, check the system BIOS settings. I'm not familiar with this particular motherboard, but I've heard about their graphics cards. If you can, see if you can go back to where you purchased it and buy a namebrand motherboard. Second, what software is loading at startup? Some utilities can totally snuf an OS. Mac's aren't bad, but your problem sounds more like a hardware issue and not WinXP.
