Found something:
Hitman 2 crashes when launched with an error Direct3D: Unable to create device. Try changing resolution or color depth and you have an Intel Graphics Controller
You will not be able to play this game in Direct3D rendering. This graphics controller does not support the advanced features of Direct3D required by the the game. There is an unsupported renderer you can use that is known to work with the Intel 828xx series graphics chips.
To enable the OpenGL renderer, you need to edit the file:(using Notepad or other text editor) c:\program files\eidos interactive\hitman 2 silent assassin\hitman2.ini.
Change the line "DrawDll RenderD3D.Dll" to DrawDll RenderOpenGL.Dll.
Change the line "ColorDepth 32" to ColorDepth 16.
Save the file and try the game again.
You should also ensure that you have the latest DirectX device drivers from Intel for your display device
