| One interesting change over Win2k. Any userid which has no password cannot be utilized to connect remotely to the machine. That is, on machine A I setup Administrator with a blank password. On machine B, I try to connect to machine A using Administrator and no password. I will receive access is denied. A blank password is stronger in many ways to a weak password. This appears to be there to support XP Home, as users are created by default with no password so that home people won't be annoyed. Very impressive. As far as over Win98. XP supports all manner of access control lists. File level, share level, within the registry, etc. etc. Win98 has none. Course XP Home sets you as admin too by default. [emote|:(] |
