Couple of thoughts, and questions. Your system's running pretty cool, so heat isn't the problem. First, have you run an anitivirus scan lately? Second, if you can get a copy of PC Doctor or some other maintenance utility, run a check on your RAM to make sure that a RAM chip isn't failing. Third, if you're running an AMD chip, then the chipset for the motherboard is most likely VIA. Suggest checking for updated "4 in 1" VIA chipset drivers. Lastly, did you do an upgrade of WinXP, or a clean install. If an upgrade, then problems that were present in WinMe probably carried over to WinXP. You might want to consider a clean install, where your HD is completely reformated, and everything installed fresh.
