I looked at your prior post and the above. The corrupt hal.dll indicates that either there was a major change in your hardware, the BIOS was flashed and resulted in a major change to the mobo, or a virus or something has nuked the hal.dll. With what you described above, it sounds like the only thing left is a clean install. I'd suggest creating/obtaining a Win98 boot floppy, and run FDISK and delete all partitions.
