Sounds like what has happened is that critical system files have been damaged/deleted. Doing a "quick restore" attempts to replace what's lost. The problem is that the virus is still there. You have two options: 1. Check with Norton or McAfee to see if they have a boot floppy that will deal with your virus problem. However, it sounds like things may be beyond fixing, so... 2. If you're running Win2000 or WinXP, boot using the disk and choose to delete the partition - then do a complete format. You will then install everything anew.
