Couple of possibilities: 1. The card is defective - possibily the fan on the graphics chip isn't working correctly. Also, the drivers for this card are supposed to have the ability to monitor the heat Check ATi's site. 2. Poor airflow. Make sure there's nothing obstructing the airflow top to bottom, and especially around the card.
