I think what you are describing is the following:

Basically to fix this you need to tell your Machine to use itself for its DNS servers. Then go into the DNS service snapin and tell your DNS server to forward lookups to the DNS server you were using. Confusing? Email if you want some more help.

Go into the network control panel and change your DNS server entries (located in the same place where you specify your IP address). Be sure to post back here if that solves your problem.

Maybe you should start from scratch if you can... And this may be a bug in the beta software. Make sure you report it to MS so it can get fixed.
