Are you confusing RAM with hard disc space? Where are you checking to see how much RAM there is? Go under Control Panel/System. System Properties on the General tab will show the amount of RAM installed. If you're looking under Windows Task Manager, it may be that it will only show 24mb of available RAM, but it should show the total of 256mb. (just checked my system and it shows 27mb of available, but 256mb of total) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100

There are two entries under System Information (Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information): 1. Total Physical Memory (my system has 512mb) 2. Total Available Memory (my system currently shows 264mb) My guess is that what is showing only 24mb is Total Available Memory. Check to see what processes are running in the background by bringing up Task Manager (use the three finger salute - ctl/alt/delete). Under the Processes tab, this will show you what programs are using up RAM. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100
