winxp could care less what partition is your system partition. Just look at system hidden file boot.ini, it looks at the partition number not the drive letter. Winxp is a professional operating system and it's designed to be very flexiable. However if you want to do this you need to follow http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q223188, but again i do not recommend this, dont listen to your friends ;p

nothinguseful : you cannot change the system or boot partition. Try it in disk management you'll see what i mean ;)
