First, it would help to know which network card you installed. Since you've almost self-diagnosed the problem (i.e defective network card), replace it with a quality network card, and make sure you have the correct drivers for it. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100

If other threads point to a problem with the installer files (rough translation: D-Link has improperly coded their drivers, so they don't install completely), I'd personally take the card back and exchange it for another brand. I've run into problems with D-Link before, as have several IT friends. Play it safe and get a Linksys card. Never had any problems with them. Also, under XP, the Users folder is under Control Panel, not in the admin tools. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100
