Did the upgrade report find anything bad with the NIC? The report is saved as upgrade.txt in the windows dir.
Is the device on the HCL? Go to microsoft.com/HCL and search for the device. If it isnt listed it might never work for xp. In device manager are there any bangs? Other devices? If so whats the device status? code 28 means bad driver, if so download updated drivers. Have you checked the 3com website for drivers? What about wndows update? Did you choose dynamic update during setup? Are you using dsl? If you are the pppoe software like winpoet wont work in xp, you use the xp built in pppoe. -gosh |
