If i understand your post correctly:
Recovery CD's @ssume that there is something to recover. You mention that you removed everything so there is nothing to recover.
So, reinstall your system, with the Windows CD's and not with the recovery CD's.

| i installed vista with my friends disc and every time i shut it off and then turn it back on it says missing operating system and i dont have the windows vista disc anymore what do i do? |

| Buy a legit copy of Windows Vista.
