if you have a old pc these problems are too be expected. In the past microsoft was blasted because windows 98/ME looked just like windows 95 and had few new features. This was done for compability with older programs and to keep problems at minimum. In windows XP, it's redesigned from the ground up to be what win9x never was - secure, reliable, rebust. However doing this meant older software and hardware would have problems. So now people are complaining that windows xp isn't compatible. Microsoft has been slowly nudging people to get rid of that dos crap and use all 32bit programs. If you think windows XP is bad, just wait for blackcomb. In blackcomb itll be a total rewrite, and you will HAVE to use new 32bit programs and hardware. People need to understand to get a OS that has better performance and stability, you need compatible hardware/software.

If you're having too many problems, go back to win9x. Like i said in a previous post, it's not worth the week itll take to fix all your problems. Stay with win9x until some of your compatibility problems are resolved, or buy a new pc with xp preinstalled. Some people that had a hard time getting XP running bought a new pc with xp, and they love it.

Some people are running out and buying XP just to have the newest and greatest. If you're happy with win9x, why upgrade? Stay with what makes you happy.
