I am trying to set up Oracle 9i RAC on windows XP. I have two nodes running windows XP. The nodes are in a workgroup and not in a domain. I want the hard drives of each node visible from the other node. I am able to map the drives in "My Computer". I have gone to the drives properties and made them sharable. But by default the share name is "C" instead of "C$". I am unable to change it to "C$". This is a problem because Oracle wants me to run the command "net use" From Node1: net use \\node2\c$ From Node2: net use \\node1\c$ When I issue this command windows is asking me for a username and p@ssword and it keeps saying access is denied. But the command: net use \\node2\c and net use \\node1\c works fine. I think it is permissions issue but I dont know how to fix it. Can somebody help me out with this.
