Hi, I recently bought a MAC OS X computer. when i connect to internet , MAC gives a error message that ethernet cable not plugged in. But i have checked my connection, the ethernet cable is plugged. I have also checked by connecting my windows computer, it seems to be working fine. if I need to ping the modem to check the cable, how should i goto commmand prompt in mac or is their is any other option to check the connection between the modem and mac computer. Thank you, nachi

Ok go to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app that is the unix command line in OSX it can call ping for you. Alternatively you can use the network utility application in the Utilites folder
