Hey, I've had this problem for QUITE awhile, and I've tried everything to fix it, downloads, reboots, updated drivers. In the Control Panel, of the Sound and Audio Device, the Audio Devices were not found within it, gray-scaled options, non-working. The Speakers seem to work on my other Desktop, but not this one, which is a Compaq Presario 5300US. I knew it wasn't the speakers, but the Audio Drivers instead, so I decided to update them, but, after downloading them, a message appears, "Device not found, reboot and try this setup again." I've tried Rebooting after that, but no help. I even downloaded from the correct audio drivers, used Sn downloads, tried to add new hardware, none seem to help. I tried fixing my Msconfig settings, see if the audio was disabled, but that wasn't the problem. Please help. Here is my system info: Computer Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Motherboard CPU Type Intel Celeron, 1100 MHz (11 x 100) Name Compaq Chipset Intel Solano i815E BIOS Type Compaq 08/31/01
