Ok, so i have a gaming PC. Custom built. And i was playing a few weeks ago and my PC just froze. I restarted it and i could tell it was running slwoer than normal. And when i brought up the game menu it had places with a Purple neon looking color. And when i click start the whole PC shut off. And i did this a few times and at one point i couldn't even turn on my PC and make it to the XP loading screen. thats a few weeks ago. So in those weeks i have been trying to find out whats wrong with it and everyone wants to charge just to tell me whats wrong with it. So today i turn it on and i see that the mouse and keyboard light up and the screen does come on. But mid loadings on the XP (the black screen where it has the XP and the little bar underneath it mid screen) it crashs and the mouse lights go off along with the keyboard and the screen light acts as if its in sleep mode. So at first i thought it was my Video card. But with this i think its my Hard Drive or Mother Board. Any ideas?

It could be one of several things - a virus, RAM going bad, CPU overheating, motherboard gon out, etc. Best recommendation is to take into a reputable shop and have them check it out. Yes, it will cost $$, but that's the best way to try and diagnose if it's a hardware or software issue. Outside of that, you can try doing a complete reformat/reinstall of everything, including WinXP (which means if you didn't back up your data, it's toast).. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
