Hi, I need to know if this it's possible that an affiliate site would register me (sometime after registering with the original site) and send me out a confirmation email with a random username...and my hotmail password. This website also has some of my details on the profile, including my age and height. I am sure however that I did not create this profile. It has no got me in to some trouble, and seeing how comparing the stories of "I created it and I'm lying" next to "A random website sent me out a confirmation email with a password I commonly used, as well as some of my details" , the latter doesn’t exactly sound like the most logical. Please help me, I need to know this is possible, I need some sort of proof. I sent a message to the webmaster of the website asking if the IP address was different when I apparently registered as to what it is now, they said it was. I doubt this however because I reset my wireless box (which automatically renews my IP) in between that time, although it still just mounts up as proof on me. Oh also as a side question: Would a webmaster have information on what IP address a user used to sign up to compare to what the IP address of the user is at that moment? I’m also wondering if there’s anyway I can find out if someone I know personally would have done this to me, is there any way of finding that out? Thanks very much, any answers are really appreciated. ---------------------------------------------- -Stuey-

Yikes... Do you have a website to point to so I can research this. FWIW, there are some sites that sell your information (usually buried somewhere in their TOS) to information "brokers". That may be how they got your info. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
