| Hi, I'm new to this forum and I have got a question re:networking! Your help is valuable and appreciated, thank you. I have got a Windows server with two network cards in. One card is configured with a 10.40.x.x IP (fixed). It is [u]not[/u] on my network - it has been installed by a third party company we have an agreement with. This company now wants to be able to get onto this server remotely. They cannot remote control on it at present as it is not part of their network either - it's just a server and router and the firewall configured by them, but not part of their MPLS. So, for them to do be able to have access to the server in question, I thought I could configure the other network card in the server with a fixed IP address on our network, give that company a VPN account to our network, install VNC onto the server and thus they should be able to access it. Done that. Ipconfig shows me both addreses (10.40.x.x and 10.80.x.x). I cannot ping anything from that server on my network range and I cannot ping that address (the 10.80.x.x)from my machine either... I am not sure what I have to change/configure, but how would this work? Much appreciate your help on this one. thanks |
