Hello, I am trying to set up a wired network with two W2K desktops, one vista laptop, a cable modem, and a Netgear FS116 network switch. If I only connect the two desktops to the switch, they will show up on each other and allow file sharing with no problems(after 2-3 minutes). When I add the modem, one computer gains Internet access, but loses access to the other computer(after about 3 minutes). The other computer cannot access the Internet at all. When I add the laptop, it can see (and is seen) by the computer with no Internet connection. Also, the laptop cannot connect to the Internet. The other desktop maintains the Internet connection, but does not see (and is not seen by) the laptop or other desktop. It is as if the the first desktop and the modem are completely isolated from the other desktop and laptop. All computers are named “WORKGROUP” (all caps); each has its own unique name; the activity lights on the switch blink constantly as soon as the modem is connected. All equipment being used is listed in the first paragraph; there is no firewall or wireless-access point; I have switched the ports to which the devices are plugged in multiple times in random way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
