Hi fellows
I am having a big, big problem and looking for help.
My Windows xp crashed some days a go when I tried to boot my computer... Of course, nothing new for any Windows user. The new and shocking thing happened when I found imposible to boot in "safe mode"; the system shows the tloading Winddows bar progess, then shuts, tries to boot again, shurs again in an endless loop.
Unable to solve this, I tried to reinstall Windows (A normal way of ssoling problems that I have done many times before). Every things goes well until the monitor blackened and a was faced with this mesaage:
"Technical Report
A problem has been found and Windowshas beeb shut off to prevent damages to the equipment.
xxxSTOP: 0X0000008E (0x00000006, 0xF7B8B18, 0x0x00000000)
xxxsetupdd.sys - Addres F7799000, baseatF7799000, DateStamp 3d6dd67F"
So, faced with rhis criptical information, I will proceed an step further and decided to format my c: drive (again, something that I have done many times before).
But, after formating, when I tried again to reinstall windows, I met again the same Technical Report as above.
I have all my files backuped on line. Should I get a good partition sofware and clean up all my hard disk or there is a way to fix the above mentiond errors?
Thanks a lot in advance for any suggstion/tip
Arturo

Hi fellows,
Windows has changed its mind so I´m facing a new and shorter twist in the above mentioned problem.
The Blue Screen of Death now says:
"SESSION_INITIALIZATION_FAILED"
....blah, blah... blah...
***STOP: 0x0000071 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
And I´m still unable to install Windows...
Please, any ideas or suggestions are very, very welcome
Arturo

A quick Google indicated that this stop error is more related to a hardware issue - primarily faulty RAM. If your system crashed for no apparent reason, and you can't get into safe mode, then that's a good indicator that it's a hardware related issue.
Have a competent tech check your system out to see if you have faulty system and/or video RAM. Believe it or not, faulty RAM on a video card will cause this type of problem also.

Thanks a lot, Jedi Master!
Some minor clues that I have seen support your diagnosis.
I did search on Google for this error with no results.
How did you found it?
Thanks again.

I used just the STOP error code and found a number of references. Additionally STOP errors are usually hardware related in some capacity. Either through failing hardware, or by poorly written drivers. How old is this computer? If it's approaching five years or so, and depending upon the quality of components, it could be reaching its "end of life".

You were rigth, Jedi Master
It was a hardware problem. I have changed my mother board and everything is working fine.
How ever, my computer is indeed approaching its "end of life".
Thanks a lot

this problem is due to the hardware .
there is no problem in your operating system. check the ram of the computer.
sometimes this problem is due to the ram or the other external hardware attached in the computer.
so contact the technician and check all the hardwares
after that try to install the windows with the new xp boot able cd.

urm....I think we figured this out already....[emote|:-|] It seems it was an issue with his motherboard, as noted by his response.

one of my friend is facing the same problem for two days . after he called me and i decided to check the computer to the computer repair shop. there is some problem in the motherboard as the ic's are bad due to wrong use of it. so he changed the ic after each and every thing is working fine. so i am sure the problem in your hardware not the software.
