Not sure if this is the right forum as it's a network issue, but we're mostly running xp so thought i'd post here. The internet in 1 of our offices keeps dropping out, and I can't figure out why! The internet line comes in to the router and straight into a network switch (let's call it switch A) which distributes around office A. Office A is having no network problems. One of the outputs from switch A also goes to switch B, which distributes around office B. The internet connection in office B keeps failing, a few minutes at a time, several times a day. I've replaced switch B, and I've replaced the cable between switch A and switch B, and tried plugging the cable into a different port on switch A. But none of this seems to solve the problem. (I've also tried powering off all the equipment) I don't see how the problem can be with the switch A as no one else working off switch A is having problems. I'm kinda stuck now. Anyone got any suggestions?

First, what's the length of the cable between switch A and B? Also, are these repeating switches? i.e. to they antenuate the signal? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

connect both the switches from the router so that the bandwidth does not distribute. which type of cable are you using. also check the cable type. ---------------------------------------------- computer support, computer repair
