| I have been told POWWEB to remove my videos and MP3s from their server. I am a Pastor-Teacher with many videos and MP3s of my teaching sessions. My thought is to move my videos and MP3s to a server to be located in my home studio. I am not a computer novice, but I have no experience with web servers and need guidance. My videos and MP3s are being accessed worldwide. If I would hazzard a guess,I'd say the limit would be no more than 10 persons logged on at the same time. I'm not certain: if I had these on a server, would they have to be downloaded to someone's computer or could they view them from my server? | Chances are, Powweb is either doing a knee-jerk reaction to the RIAA suits over file downloading....or they're just being twits because of the bandwidth usage that downloading videos/MP3's creates. You could set up a web server in your home, but that creates a couple of issues - bandwidth usage that your ISP migh object to, and potential security issues to your home computer setup. Personally, I'd suggest looking for another web host that doesn't have a problem with this. As I recall, our church (Humble Area's First Baptist) uses 1 & 1 (1and1.com) as do several other churches. I believe Eleven2 (eleven2.com) also hosts a number of churches.
