Hey everyone, i have a problem with my wireless network and its really annoying me.. My problem is that i recently got a D-Link AirPlus-G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI Adapter for my computer because my parents are complaining about wires, so i followed the installation instructions that came with it exactly, so its now installed with all the drivers. But when i remove the cable out of my computer the wireless constantly shows as "acquiring network address", so i decided to put a static IP on it and now it connects but i cant use the internet for anything?.. What does this mean? :S Thanks in advance

I'm assuming that your router is a wireless router. If it's set up correctly (from a security standpoint), then you'll have to put in the wireless MAC address for the PCI adapter into the router to allow access. Which router are you using? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

To find the MAC address, go to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all. You'll be looking for the "Wireless LAN Adapter". What you're looking for is the "Physical Address". I'm not familiar with your router. If this is one that your ISP provided, check with them as to how to configure it. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
