Hello there people! I have a strange problem with one of the PCs here at my work. I have a server using active desktop and of course all the computers are synchronizing to the mapped network drive of the server to run the needed programs. The problem that i have is that one of the PCs even if shows that is synchronizing with the exchange server, doesn't seem to do so. The program is not opening and every time i have to go to My Computer -> mapped drive and connect first there and after to run the required programs. Can someone help me with this? All the other computers are synchronizing fine. Only this PC has the problem. The computer runs windows xp and the server is windows server 2003 standard edition.

I'm a bit confused. When you say the server is using "active desktop", did you mean Active Directory?. Second, you noted that the one PC that has the sync problem is syncying with "exchange server". Exchange Server handles the distribution and monitoring of e-mail. First, is this a true client/server environment where access is authenticated through Active Directory? Second, are you running Active Directory on the same box as the "mapped network drive" that has these programs that each PC runs? Knowing the above may help to diagnose the real issue. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

[/QUOTE] Sorry for my confused statement. It is active directory yes. The problem with the specific PC is that is not synchronizing at all with the server and yes the active directory is at the same box with the mapped network drive and the authentication is through active directory. Naturally when the computer starts up a window is poping up showing the synchronization with the server. This doesn't happen with the PC i explained. I hope now i was more understandable.

How many computers are in this network? If the one PC that has a problem syncing is still able to be authenticated by the DC, then my thought is that the number of connections to this shared drive needs to be increased. i.e. it's possible to limit the number of clients that sync with a particular drive at any one time. If that number is set to say, 20, and there are more than 20 client PC's, then that would be a reason that it may not be syncing. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

There are about 15 computers that are connected to the mapped drive. So you think that the problem is the number of connections. Is there any possibility for you to know how exactly i change this number? I am new to this type of connection so sorry if my questions are kind of newbie....

I'm currently researching this, but you might also want to post the question over at the MS TechNet forums (or search there). They may be able to provide better/faster guidance. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/categories/ ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
