Well here's the best i can do without any information from you. If you really want to be helped you need to provide a lot more information like:
-is this using a router?
-who is the isp?
-how is everything connected? draw a picture if you can
my advice:
-are there any firewalls?
-what is each computer's ip, subnet, default gateway
-are they all on the same workgroup?
-can you ping each other computer by using computer name or ip?
-can you browse the other pc, ie start > run > \\pcname
-can you browse by ip, ie start > run > \\ipaddress
-have u tried the networking wizard?

Just out of curiousity, why are you using a nt4 server? kinda weird unless your using it as a proxy server.
Second, i want to confirm. You cannot ping another computer from the xp box, any other computer cannot ping the xp box, is this correct?
If so we might have a connectivity issue. If you havent tried swapping the NIC or cable go ahead and do so. Also make sure the NIC is on the HCL - www.microsoft.com/HCL, and verify the nic has the latest drivers.
Next go to start > run > type: cmd, click ok, now type this:
ipconfig /all > gosh.txt
Paste gosh.txt here. If the ip is 169.254.x.x you have APIPA which means we're not finding your DHCP or DNS Server (your isp).
Also try netdiag. exe. Extract this file from:
<xp cdrom>:\SUPPORT\TOOLS\support.cab
For instructions how to use it:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/tools/existing/netdiag-o.asp
If netdiag fails=you have hardware issues.

That's good to hear. But why did you use netbeui and not ipx/spx? Both are broadcast protocols. Netbeui isnt supported anymore. The reason it works is because it sends broadcasts on the network. In other words when you send a file to a computer, every computer on the network gets the file. On a small network this is fine, but once the network grows over 10 computers it'll lag.
