I have a broadband connection it was connected this way before phone line-->modem--->PC modem was in a office 10m away from my room.So I decided to use the same broadband for my laptop in my room. Some one said it could be done using hub. So now the connection is this way.. phone line-->modem-->to one of the pins of a 5 pin capacity hub using cat6 cable----> cat5 wire 10m long from another pin of hub ---> cat5 wire to my laptop normal internet lan pin. now I was not able to establish a internet connection to my laptop.rarely some it gets connected after leaving for some times. many a times it connects for not more than 1sec and gets disconnected. I cant understand whats the problem.I just want to connect my laptop with same broadband through a hub since it provides extension. please help. ---------------------------------------------- pawaneo

Sounds like the problem is with the hub. It sounds like this ISN'T a powered hub, correct? Personally, since you're using a laptop (and I'm assuming that it has a wireless NIC), I'd use a wireless router. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf MacBook Pro 15" (Intel i5 2.40GHz), Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate , Photoshop CS5
