US Xbox into UK Voltage/Watts   Post Reply

You will find 220/240 volt units are 100 Watts (approx 70VA [voltage amps]- this is the root-mean-square or RMS of 100W)
That means if you want to play your 240 volt unit in USA you will need a converter that has a max load of at least 100Watts (or 70VA). However you should aim for 30% more, ie. 130W (approx 90VA)

I just read a comment from you in the web indicating you also face a problem by connecting you console to the wrong voltage. I bought mine in the US (110V) but then moved to Denmark in Europe (220V)… I bought a converter but the Xbox just showed a 'blinking' light and never turned on… then after a year I decided to explain the problem to a friend in the middle of a party (both drunk) and confuse the voltage-converter with a plug-transformer and you can imagine the rest… it sounded like a small explosion inside accompanied by a burning smelling… I called both service centers in both the US and DK and none of them will help me… in the US they say they can receive it and repair it but only send it back to a local address there… in DK they only repair local ones… then I'm f… Could you provide me any guideline about how to solve this problem?

Ok, here is my problem. I got an X-box, I brought it on deployment with me to the desert. I missread the converter we had and plugged it into the 220V on accident. So now I got a blown X-Box. It wouldnt be a problem except that the X-Box is modded so I would really like to fix it since I payed a pretty penny for it. If anyone could help me with this that would be awsome.

Good tool, bad tool
I'm new at networking and I want to start making my own network wires/cables for my office. I ordered this crimping tool from www.lducompany.com (crimper should be here in a few days) and I wanted to learn if there are any other kinds of network cat5 wire crimping tools out there that would work better?http://www.liangdianup.com/inventory/459901.htm is the location for the crimp plires on thier website, those are the ones that I bought. Funny that it says Germany on the handle of the plires but I would gues they are made in China since the company I bought them from is in China. If you know of a name of a certin cat 5 wire crimper that would be better for me to use then please post it here. Thank you Emoticon

So which is it? 300W or 130W?

I've got an Australian Xbox 360 that I want to use in the USA... The power supply is 240V and 2.7A, so I assume I'll need at least a 240 x 2.7 = 648W power converter... Is this correct?

Am I better off just buying a Microsoft Xbox 360 USA power supply?

Hi there,
I have an UK Xbox 360, and Im moving to Finland in europe. I phoned xbox customer support for advice and they sent me a UK plug (which I have), thinking they made a mistake I phoned them and then they sent me the same thing again...
Can anyone help me in what I need to do to get my Xbox 360 working in Europe..

I bought a xbox elite version and i am plannin to use it in INDIA (220 V 60 Hz)...so i was wondering if i could buy the stepdown transformer and just plug n play

I knw it reduces the voltage but do i have to worry abt the Amperes too...?

I had the same problem. I moved from the U.S to Kenya and needed a transformer for my xbox. The input voltage requirement for the console is 100-127Volts and the amperage is 3.7(or 2.7..something like that). You multiply those two and get the wattage, which is about 300(or 200..sorry I don't have my 360 with me right nowEmoticon ) something watts. So you need a transformer that fits the 360. I recommend a 500W transformer.

i have a problem..my friend plug the U.S 110Volts adapter to Asia's 220Volts..and our adapter explodes...will the console be affected? will the console still work? i need your help..=(
