Problems with DVD Players on Compaq 7478 PC   Post Reply

Thanks to all for any help you may give! I have two DVD Players installed on my Compq Presario 7478. Early on(@ about April 2000) I encountered playback probs with the Compaq DVD Player so I re-installed it using the "Quick Restore" discs supplied with the pc. Did not work. I ordered new "QR" discs @ my cost from Compaq and tried again to get a working DVD player. Sometimes it worked & sometimes not. Getting frustrated, I ordered & purchased the MGI Soft DVD Max from Roxio. Installed and worked ok but with jerky movement in the pic delivered. Now both of these software based players are failing. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I have accessed many sites dealing with DVD playback probs and have tried to get a working player, but no luck. I appreciate any feedback! Peace, Donbear
