i'm upgrading form home to pro with my Presario 1500 by way of reformatting the hard drive and installing a fresh XP pro.

Everything went okay except for establishing connection to my office network----it's only recognizes a 10Mbps instead of the 100Mbps. I've disabled firewall already and has tried using network card but the result is still the same. Please help.....

i'm not expert in networking, but what i understand, firewall only used to secure our PC from outside thread; it will not slow down the access speed.

do you install the right driver for your network device? or maybe your network device and cabling have problem?

First of all, the only way you can upgrade to Pro from Home is by way of formating. No install path exists from Home to Pro unfortunately. Yes, do check the device drivers. Perferably use the driver from the manufacturer if you have it. Also, take a peek into the BIOS and see if there are setting in there for NIC speed.
