I have been working on an excel file. I saved it onto a USB flash memory stick, then saved from the memory stick onto a computer hard drive.

Now...both the memory stick original file and the hard drive file can't be opened.

It gives a message of something like -
'Can't access file, maybe read-only protected or the drive may be read only. then something about the server may be not responding'.

I have tried: Pasting the file to a different location - same response. I have tried re-naming the file - same response. I have checked the properties of the file and the read-only box is not checked (even if it were, it should let me open it in a read-only format).

Any ideas???? Please Help.... Thxs!!!

Right click on the file, and go to Properties. At the bottom, under Attributes, make sure that Read Only and Hidden are UNCHECKED.
