Hey guys

My family used to have a Windows 98 computer (we've had two others since then and don't own that computer anymore). There was a set of games that came with the computer that I'm wondering about. I think they were listed as "Microsoft Games" on the Program menu, but obviously that doesn't help much. I can remember a lot of the games but not their names...here's a few of them:

A game called Jewel Thief or something similar to that. Definitely had the word "Jewel" in it though. You are a thief who goes around walking over jewels to pick them up, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, stuff like that. There are also gold and silver coins, and a few levels have clocks that you pick up. The game has really cool spy music, and when you first open it, it plays music and has a logo with the thief as a silouette, frozen in a running stance over a circle with red bricks behind him.

There's a mouse game, where mice of all different colors walk around the screen, and you have to pick them up using this little contraption (that changes in difficulty from level to level) and put them back down in order of colors to gain points. The mice come in colors of red, blue, green, white, orange, and (I think) purple and yellow. The white mice are like a joker card - they act as any color when you put them in a group.

Another game is with a bunch of different animals, and they all have different arms, legs, bodies, and heads of other animals. You have to find how to switch them all around until they are a complete animal of one kind. (There are test tubes you put them in, and the animals are dropped down from the top of your screen in ever-increasing numbers as you progress.) I think the animals dance to music throughout the game. The only animal I can remember is an alligator, but there were like six different kinds of animals in the game.

I think Tut's Tomb was included in this pack, though I'm not positive as I never played it, I only remember the name.

There was a game where you charmed a snake by playing different instruments to it, and it would hold up little pots on it's head.

There was some sort of game with balls but I don't remember anything about it.

That's about all I can think of for now. Sorry everything is so vague, it's been years since I played any of these games. If anyone has any idea which game pack this is, or any names of the games, please reply! Thanks for your help!

P.S. I don't think it had Tut's Tomb, I just found out that the Best Of Entertainment pack (on our old Windows ME) has that on it, so I doubt it was on this other game pack. ~ Purple Bandana

greetings,

i'm fairly certain i've found what you're looking for, does this sound familiar?
These games were in a Microsoft Entertainment Pack: The Puzzle Collection available in July 1997:

- Fringer
- Finty Flush
- Mixed Genetics
- Charmer
- Rat Poker
- Color Collision
- Jewel Chase
- Lineup
- Spring Weekend
- Muddled Casino

See this (http://www.microsoft.com/games/PC/puzzle.aspx#buyit ) for what was available at the time.

Over the years it looks like the Entertainment Packs have changed. Today, for Windows XP (Home/Pro) there's a new "Pack" that is called Microsoft Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP, more information (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plus/buyit.asp ).

Remember that the Microsoft Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP is an all in one including the previous two versions: "Plus! Digital Media Edition" and "Plus! for Windows XP".

Now here's the kicker question:
- does the Microsoft Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP come with the games you know and love?

Answer... i haven't a clue, i'll find out tomorrow!

i've pre-ordered the Microsoft Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP (at CompUSA) and am going to sift through it and see if it really does have all the games from past editions, until then i can only @ss U ME so Emoticon

PurpleBandana, if you're still subscribed to this thread, i'll have an answer to you by tomorrow.

have a good one...

WHOA! I cannot believe I completely lost this message board. I'm so sorry! I only just found it now by doing a Google search for this username. Crazy.

But wow, thank you SO MUCH for all your help bkr, you have no idea how much I appreciate it! I never thought I'd find this game pack but you've gone and done it! It's definitely the Puzzle Collection, and those screencaps you posted are exactly right. Endless thanks for ALL the work you put into finding this for me - I wish I could repay the favor!
