I just recently was able to reinstall windows on my moms machine and took out 2000, and replaced it with XP pro. Found out a dimm slot was bad, so then quick formatted it, and reinstalled once again.
Finally the corruption problem is gone, but now am having a wireless problem, which was occuring before, but I am not sure the cause.
I can ftp to my moms computer and am able to allow her to transfer files from my computer to hers, with BPFTP server, which I have never had a problem with.
When she ftp's to my computer through my server her download speeds are 150kb/s.... it is just capped off, right there... I have no idea... whereas my dad, a while back with the same d-link card, was able to get 700kb/s off my ftp server--This was quite a while back, before I implemented some services on my computer and such......
Before I formatted my moms computer to put XP on it, a strange thing happened... I was suddenly getting up to 700kb/s upload speeds to my computer..... I do not know how that happened, but it did, so the uploads were fast, then i decided to try downloading... it was fast too.... so I do not know what happened or how her computer go so messed up that the ftp transfers were working properly (windows 2000 pro)..... But now that I reformatted went right back down to 150kb/s up and down..
The reason I believe it is a wireless problem is because my friend came over recently, plugged directly (hardwired) into the wireless router, and ftped me, getting over 4mb/s
I really need help, I have been searching an answer for this for a while....
