I have the "automaticaly search for network folders and printers " unchecked and always have. I don't understand what i'm looking for in the netstat -a command. This topic is really old, but hopefully someone out there is still watching and could please help me.
I have the same problem and tried lots of things form removing registry entries for the context menu action of installed apps and also disabled the "automaticaly search for network folders and printers ". It speeded up things for some types of files, but for all the office, pdf, txt ones, it still takes up to 10 sec to display the menu...unless I previously right-clicked on a similar document.
Please HELP !
Vince

If you double click a document to open it, it takes 10-20 seconds to open, but if you already have a similar document open, for example a word doc, and then open another one from within word, it is instantaneous. This problem appears even for simple text docs with notepad.
