I have a good one and would like to know if anyone else got screwed this way. I downloaded MacAfee Security Center from the MSN site as it was recommended. When I went to boot up the next morning I was locked out of my own damn computer. MSN told me that the this program raises the security level, and said to take a hike on my problem and when I called Microsoft told me to get lost by going to their online support site. My PC is now at the shop and Windows XP has to reloaded into the system. Hard Drive has to be copied and stripped and I have lost all the programs on the PC. If anyone else has this problem I would like to know as I would like to start a cl@ss action suit. This is costing me big bucks and I am tired of these guys knowingly slapping crap on the internet that is full of unresolved bugs and creating hell for users.
Thanks,
Rich50

I found this fix accidently:

1. Go to Control Paanel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Locate MSN
2. Click Remove you will get a new menu
3. Select install additional components -- it will install and should get you connected.

Hope this works for you

Several months ago signed on to verizon dsl and have not been able to install msn premium since.
Since getting rid of AOL for Broadband, I'm able to proceed with msn premium installation until an error message the "we are unable to connect to the sign up servers...cannot continue..."
According to Verizon support staff with whom I've spent several hours...including the remote accessed/more technical support...everything checks out ok...they cannot find what's blocking the install. McAfee firewall disabbled, pop up blocker shut off etc. Is there a technical mind that can help me to overcome this frustration? This must be something simple yet so far cannot fix.

MSN usually gets screwed up by two things:

1) Date and Time - Check the date and time on your PC make sure it's correct
2) Routers - On the MSN MEMBER website it says this:

28.8-Kbps or faster modem or other existing Internet connection (Broadband service requires available USB or Ethernet port on the main computer, not on a hub or serial connection through other devices.)

I have Verizon Fios and selected msn premium. I have no problems on my xp machines, I can downlad with no issues at all. However with my Vista home premium machine I can't download it and get the cant find C\msn.exe telling me to check the spelling and logi again. Then I get error code 54. Do you get the same message including the error code 54?
