Hello everybody, this is my first post @ ANet Forums!

I installed Windows 2000 SP3 on some workstations and servers at my company and I noticed something odd about the Internet Explorer version.
If Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 was previously installed and Q321232 hotfix was applied the version displayed is still 5.01 SP2 + Q321232, while if the hotfix wasn't applyed then IE 5.01 is upgraded to SP3.
I can't report the same behaviour for Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 nor for IE 6.0 with or without Q321232 hotfix.

I tried to search the MS Knowledge Base for Internet Explorer fixes contained in SP3 but with no luck.

Anybody has a clue? Cheers!

Thanks Andy.

I already read the "readme".
It just explains that Internet Explorer 5.01 *IS* updated installing SP3.
Actually, I realized that when I saw "Update version: SP3" in the "About Internet Explorer" dialog on some computers.
However, I don't understand why version 5.01 SP2 is shown instead, if Q321232 (latest cumulative) patch is installed.

I got some answer about IE 5.5 and 6 on Microsoft newsgroups. Somebody told me that they *ARE NOT* updated by the Service Pack.
That's definitely not good!

Regards
