I recently took on a project for my wife's office to upgrade their small network. This office has three PC's networked together (using a Linksys router). Two of the PC's already had Win2000 Pro. The third was running Win98SE, and contained the office's proprietary database. Protocols installed included TCP/IP and NetBEUI. When I installed Win2000 Pro (clean install), the new computer could "see" the other two, but the others could not see the new Win2000 'puter. The only way for all three to "see" each other was to install NetBEUI on the new machine. FYI, I had tried deleting NetBEUI from all and getting them to communicate via TCP/IP, but that wouldn't work. Any ideas why NetBEUI would be required? Also, any suggestions to correct this and use TCP/IP? Thanx! cp ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800; ATi Radeon 9500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional
