*!!**ANSWER***!! hey i had the same problem where my xbox dvd drive wouldnt open and the screen was blank. Sometimes it would come up but usually freeze or some mishap would happen that kept me from the dashboard. I w@ssurfing the net trying to find answers. i finally figured it out. it usually happens when you either own your xbox for a long time or you put it in storage. what happens is too much dust gets into the inside where the power connect/eject button is an damages it. all you have to do is buy a new power button dongle or get it from a broken xbox. it controls the dvd drive and thats why it seems to work normally but wont eject. it is also possible to fix it yourself with solder but i wouldnt recommend this route. After i replaced the front piece with a spare broken xbox that my friend had it worked perfectly again. the video came back and the xbox dvd tray opened as normal. ---------------------------------------------- ~Capone
