hmmmm that is a strange one - ive got the joytech cable and tried it on both Widescreen and 4:3 tv's and haven't had that problem. I seems like an Xbox problem to me as there wouldn't be a 16:9 signal going to the TV just from the scart lead, the Xbox must be telling it to as well.
